The Trends
#1 But I know you’ll stay
6.5m videos on the sound
As the song on this trend audio goes, “b*tches come and go, but I know you’ll stay” and TikTok users are taking this line to heart. Couples on the platform started posting videos of them whispering this line to one another while almost lip to lip. It’s a very cute couples trend but for those of us that are atrociously single, users have also had some fun. Many creators are parodying the trend with objects or animals to replace a significant other as the thing that is going to stay forever.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to replicate the trend with themselves, essentially positioning the brand product as the thing that will always stay.
#2 Need a chair?
511.4k videos on the sound
Sometimes there isn’t a chair lying around and users on TikTok are offering themselves up to fix that. On this trend mostly female users are creating videos where they lay against the wall in the shape of a chair offering it to a guy they like. Often these guys are popular cultural figureheads for the female gaze and plays into the other trends of attraction on the platform.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to have brand reps and mascots replicate the videos and position themselves as offering a chair to their customers or maybe more hilariously to one of the aforementioned popular males like Jack Harlow or Machine Gun Kelly.
#3 “Accidentally”
288.2k videos on the sound
With this trend audio users are joking about “accidentally” avoiding responsibilities and finding themselves in extremely unlikely scenarios because of it. On a regular day one wouldn’t find themselves skipping work to accidentally fly on vacation but this trend highlights the hilarity of people avoiding their responsibilities or simply finding themselves accidentally in a very non accidental situation.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to joke about when lower level employees would be a little bit guilty of falling short. For example a McDonalds employee could joke about accidentally telling a customer the ice-cream machine is broken to avoid having to get it going.
#4 Disappear
95.9k videos on the sound
There are red flags, and then there are full dealbreakers and with this trend TikTok users have graduated into showing off personality traits, personal actions, and attitudes in others that would make them disappear from their lives. Creators will stand in frame while the characteristic they like is in text and once the beat changes in the audio, they bring their arm backwards and disappear from the frame.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to replicate this trend highlighting experiences in the workplace which are awful to deal with including poor customer attitudes or general inconveniences.
#5 Ok I like it Picasso
61.3k videos on the sound
Have you ever had to tell your friend they looked good when they didn’t? This trend encapsulates that humor in situations when you tell someone they look good or something they did looks good in-genuinely. The audio is of someone sarcastically remarking on a person’s clothing, art, or aura in general. The humor lies in how casually the audio calls the work of art a Picasso, as there is usually a large dichotomy between the level of art or beauty that is being critiqued versus what something Picasso would’ve painted.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands can use this to compliment work outfits for employees
Can be utilized to cover new rebrands / remodels / facades that look good for the workplace.
#6 On our way to…
26.7k videos on the sound
When the group chat all gets news at the same time requiring action, it means they always have to endeavor together and TikTok users are doing exactly that. Creators are presenting scenarios when they get a specific piece of news or notice which rally themselves and their peers to action. Users will walk in a straight line with their friends through a multitude of places, creating a funny effect of the group looking almost like soldiers.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to have a group of brand employees replicate the trend. A funny example would be when your boss calls and cancels work for the day with the group all taking off their gear and walking out the door.
Trends from last week that keep climbing
#7 Pushin P
128.3k videos on the sound
Usually it is a struggle in and of itself to explain TikTok humor to an older audience, but with pushin 🅿️, even Gen Z and the younger generation have no idea what is going on. Last week famous rapper Gunna released his new album and one of the prominent popular songs from it was titled “Pushin P”. The song references the line constantly but never once tells what P is or means. Talk show hosts and people around Gunna have asked him what 🅿️ is and his explanations are hilariously unhelpful in providing any clarity regarding the matter. The joke is that nobody really knows what pushin 🅿️ means, other than that it references something that is cool and down to earth. TikTok users have used the vagueness to create a trend where they show interpretations of pushin 🅿️, whether it be literal or metaphorical. The results are amazing and we highly suggest you check them out right below.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to associate “cool” parts of their brand with Pushin 🅿️ and if there is anyone with a deeper understanding of the term they can make TikToks determining what competitors are/aren’t Pushin 🅿️
#8 Screaming excitement
143.1k videos on the sound
As it turns out nobody is better at a poker face than a girl in the talking stages and this trend has been a fun way for girls to show their internal excitement from interactions with significant others vs their real world reaction. Under the audio girls are acting as if they are screaming with excitement to a text they received from a significant other, but when they go to respond the excitement cuts and they act very confident and nonchalant about it.
Examples:
Applicability:
Brands will want to use this format to represent customers getting extremely exited to use their product.
#9 Vanessa
Multiple audios not trackable
As you might recall two weeks ago the material girl trend was going strong on TikTok. One of the audios that appeared after the trend was of an audio saying, “Freddie you’re supposed to be on lockdown… but Vanessa I’m a material girl.” The joke was that the user was using being a material girl as an excuse for some action in their life. Now this audio has expanded and much like the Berries and Cream trend from a few months ago, users are creating countless edited versions with different meanings. All of them still start with the premise of “Freddie you’re supposed to be on lockdown” and lead into some relatable phrase for the second half. There are dozens of versions so we can’t explain them all but make sure to check out down below for examples.
Examples:
Applicability:
Each audio will have to be adapted to a new scenario, brands should try to reflect user feelings from example videos in their personified brand.
