Join us as we explore every week through the trends that are infecting the TikTok for you page and how they can align with your brand!
Attitudes & Themes on the Platform this Week
Positive vibes are the largest attitude change that we are starting to see this week with content on the platform. While there are this week, and always will be trends that joke about the negative, summer has brought along great weather and a really positive energy to content on the platform. Hoochie daddy szn has girls hyped up about guys and guys even more hyped up about themselves heading into the warmer temperatures. Regardless of the style of content, users seem to be taking to the platform with great energy and as summer continues with school being out, we expect the younger users to continue to drive this positivity in the coming months.
Audio Based Trends
Now you may be asking yourself, aren’t almost all trends audio based trends? And to that I would tell you yes, yes they are. That being said what we mean by audio based trends specifically are trends that pertain to specific lyrics or wording within sound. This is when the action or meaning behind the trend is correlated with the lines spoken. This week we’ve got a few fun ones so let’s jump in.
1855 days
72.5k videos on the sound
Kendrick Lamar is back this week with his first album in over five years. To be exact, it’s been 1855 days. In one of the songs on the album Kendrick says, “I’ve been going through something… 1855 days.” This line references Kendrick going through a lot of growth over the five years, not only in his personal life but in his understanding of the world and artistry. TikTok users have taken this line and applied it to a very common before and after trend where creators show a photo of themselves from five years ago before Kendrick dropped, in contrast to a photo today. These before and after trends are very simple but the clout that Kendrick brings to the equation means this trend is going viral and will continue to do well alongside the album.
Brand application: Brands will want to simply follow the trend where they show where the brand was five years ago vs where it is today.
Examples:
Push these [people] off me like HUUUUU
14.1k videos on the sound
Even though it had been 1855 days, it turns out Kendrick came back strong with this album, so strong in fact that he has two trends surfing the TikTok for you page today. In another one of his songs, Silent Hill, the chorus goes: “push these [people] off me like HUHHHH.” To put it simply the audio is funny and has great energy so TikTok users are utilizing it to represent themselves shrugging off haters or their own issues. This one is actually a little bit of a dance trend in the sense that there is a common shoving motion that goes along with it, but since it aligns with the verbiage we felt it fit nicely into the audio based trends this week. Check out examples below to get a better idea of the energy portrayed in the videos.
Brand application: Brands will likely not be able to use this audio unless they are utilizing a personal account. If applicable brands can simply replicate the dance move and use text to represent a situation from their life where they shrug off customers or general bad vibes.
Examples:
Put me in coach

Soccer season may be over on the pitch but it sure is not on TikTok with this new trend. A soccer stadium audio plays in the background users are acting like a soccer player coming off the bench to go into the game. They are associating coming off the bench in the more metaphorical sense with finding ways to insert themselves into situations that may not be usually welcoming. It may be a user sliding into someone’s DMs right after they broke up with their significant other, or something less deceitful, but regardless the situations being represented in the videos are hilarious.
Brand application: Brands will want to come up with their own scenarios when they acquire customers most often and apply it to this format.
Examples:
Interactive Trends
This should be somewhat self explanatory but interactive trends are trends that involve users interacting with others to create videos. Often the hilarity or interest generated by working with loved ones or peers creates incredible laughs or simply fun times. Most importantly though, authenticity shows through with interactive trends as most often they are truly authentic. This week we’ve only got one but it’s got big implications for summer so let’s just jump in.
Hoochie Daddy Szn
Most trends on TikTok follow a specific format that users can replicate in some sense, but every once in a while we find a topical trend to follow. Much like hot girl summer the past two years, hoochie daddy szn is when guys are feeling themselves (metaphorically) and just generally looking good. This term is going to be huge on TikTok for all summer and finding ways to integrate it into content will immediately flag to users that brands are integrated with culture going on. We’ve seen content thus far referencing guys as hoochie daddy’s with girls often duetting hoochie daddy content for their fans and expect the styles of content to grow in coming days to weeks.
Brand application: Whether it’s brand representatives participating in the hoochie daddy szn, or simply enabling the hoochie daddy lifestyle through clothing and accessories, the possibilities are endless for brand application. get creative and reach out to us if you have any questions!

Dance Trends
TikTok virality was founded upon the back of Musically which was a platform entirely centered around dance trends. As such, dance trends have been an essential and prominent part of content on the platform ever since its inception. These trends are very simple as it just involves a common audio with a common dance applied to it. Brands can utilize these through simple replication form where brand representatives and mascots will do the dance. These are the most fun but also the simplest!
Hug me, bring me in dance
34.5k videos on the sound
As with all dance trends this one is pretty simple. The dance involves showing oneself acting as if they are pulling a user closer in alignment with the audio saying “bring me in”. Next users will turn around, and if we’re being frank, they will actively try to show off their butt. As(s) with tons of content on the platform, this thirst trap focus generates more consistent and viral content so users are harnessing it to grow their videos under this dance. For the most part though, this one is incredibly fun and users are loving it so we’d suggest you hop on when you can!
Brand application: As aforementioned, simply find a brand representative or mascot to replicate this dance with the correct audio!

Simple Format Trends
This section is a little bit of a catch all for trends that are somewhat nonspecific. They happen on a weekly basis, but with these one generally finds that the trend has a simple audio behind it and creators will utilize a text format on screen to showcase a message. Often these trends tend to be based upon a relatability factor where users will talk about an experience from their own life with extremely relatable undertones that other users can get a good self deprecating laugh at. This week we’ve got two of them so check them out below!
My life falling apart
235.1k videos on the sound
As far as simple formats goes, this falls in line with the common before and after trends. Users here are in a self deprecating manner joking about about their lives falling apart, but the simple solutions that make them feel at peace. Whether it’s laying down or even simply playing with their dog, an easy fix can really solve a lot with the stress of the world on their shoulders. Some users are taking this trend in the sarcastic sense, joking about poor coping mechanisms and bad habits that solve their problems. Regardless of the intention behind the video, the outcome is entertaining and authentic so the trend is gaining traction nicely.
Brand application: Brands will want to joke from a company perspective about the brand falling apart with sarcastic solutions to the issue. Brands will need to lean into the sarcastic side here to really get a grasp on audiences from a larger entity’s perspective.
Examples:
I am Joseph Moreno
17.7k videos on the sound
If we had to give an award to the funniest trend for the week, we’d have to give it to this. If you are unfamiliar, Joseph Moreno is a very popular telenovela figure who is essentially the worlds greatest loophole. He always figures out the clever and morally ambiguous solution to a problem, and thus TikTok users are reflecting that with similar examples from their own life.
Brand application: Brands will want to exemplify their own clever solutions to problems with customers or generally around their workspace.

Riz
134.4k videos on the sound
You likely haven’t heard of the term riz and that’s for good reason. The TikTok definition of it hasn’t even found its way onto urban dictionary but we’re going to dive into it today. Essentially the term refers to being incredibly smooth and having an attractive force that allows one to bring others to them with the slightest movements. Translated: a person that has game and attracts others with ease. Basically it’s an ability where others want to be around you so without much of an effort one can get those people to do whatever they want. In the world of TikTok this week users are testing out their unspoken riz with their friends or general people in their life. Most videos are sarcastic in the sense that they really aren’t trying, but many have had hilarious outcomes like students being able to get their teacher to follow them out of the classroom with a simple hand movement. Users are having a great time interacting with peers doing this and we have a feeling that while it may not be in this trend format specifically, the idea of riz will persist on TikTok for a while.
Brand Application: Here companies will want to test out their riz on customers in the real world. If the brand is not public facing having employees testing their riz with coworkers is great in the office but for those who are public facing, testing it out with real customers will provide the most authentic and hilarious videos to consume.
Examples:
Idealizing
101.2k videos on the sound
With past failed relationships, people often tend to idealize the situations they left in the past as they were somewhat addicted to that person. This TikTok trend is a representation of users’s own down bad experience where they are missing a person from their past who they thought were their soulmate, but actually treated them poorly. This is yet another example of the self deprecation so prevalent on the platform as users are exposing some decently personal experiences at the expense of themselves for comedy.
Brand application: Brands will want to joke here about past partnerships or deals they had which they had to get rid of. They should idealize the situation but then reiterate why it was such a poor circumstance.
